Happy New Year

An interesting year. I have been having fun looking back at old blog posts. So many friends and good times. I started this blog shortly after Tom and I were married, a lot has happened. :)

New Year is Coming

The Canada Geese have not gone south and are hanging out enjoying our milder temperatures. Just after I took the pictures of these geese a Bald Eagle swooped down and attacked a duck that was away from the flock. The bird tried to dive but after about 4 dives the eagle had the duck. He swam slowly, after attempting to fly, using his neck to inch him closer to shore. He drug the duck ashore but still couldn't fly. I lost interest so don't know it ended but there was another bald eagle flying near.

It has rained on and off but there is still snow

Warmer temps but looks cold this morning.

I am so glad we bought good binoculars. I sat by the fire and saw all of this.

Christmas at the Stone's House

I left my camera in the car but Mike took these and emailed them to us the next day. We had a fabulous Shrimp Boil. Delicious!

The newspaper is on the table because this is a messy meal.

More Snow

We went to Newport again to take papers to STCU and stopped by the Usk Grill on our way home for another great meal.

We seem to have appointments when road conditions are less than perfect but at least this time it has stopped snowing.

Buffalo on the Reservation. This bull has wandered away from the herd.

A beautiful sunrise. Sunrise and sunset are so close together and look alike so it is hard to tell which. This was taken before we left the house but it ended up out of order.

The snow slipping off the roof just hangs there. It is too cold to drop off.

I love when the trees are white. Their reflection is great.

A quiet Sunday

It is so very quiet and still. The river is like a mirror when the sun comes out. I went for a walk out to the street and took pictures from different angles.

Home Sweet Home

After our great adventure to see what was available in our neighborhood, I came home and took pictures of our home. We are lucky to have so much to do year round here.

My garden really looks sad. I hope to get inspired this spring.

My drift wood collection - I need to think of something to do with them.

Last week the fence was pushed the other direction now something tried to jump & missed.

Visit Local Ski Resort

We went to 49 degrees North a ski resort that is only 40 miles away on great roads. We loved the place. It reminds us of the resorts we went to when we were beginners. People felt safe to leave their things out on tables and equipment was left unguarded. We are thinking about getting season passes for next winter. On the way home we stopped at the Usk Grill for a late lunch.
